Understanding eTags Concepts

Now that you’ve completed your first device setup and scheduled your first creative, let’s break down the core concepts that power the eTags system. Understanding these terms will help you navigate the platform with confidence.

1. Devices

Devices are the digital tags (eTags) placed throughout your store. Each device has a unique MAC address and displays content based on its assigned package.

2. Packages

Packages are collections of items bound to a device. They define what products an eTag displays. A package includes:

  • Package Name: The label for your collection.

  • Item ID, Quantity per Package, and Sort Order: The details that determine which products and in what sequence they appear.

3. Offers

Offers are the promotions or campaigns displayed on eTags. They are created separately and then linked to schedules to determine when and where they appear.

4. Templates

Templates define the design and layout of your eTag displays. Each template is tailored for different device sizes or formats.

5. Schedules

Schedules determine when and where offers appear. A schedule binds offers to devices, controlling the timing and location of your promotions.
