Backordered

The Backordered tool provides a comprehensive view of backordered items that either have stock available or are already on order.

Access Note: The "Backordered" permission is required.

Overview

The Backordered tool is designed to identify discrepancies where items have been backordered despite being available in stock or already on order. This tool helps in training order specialists and sales teams to minimize such discrepancies, ensuring smoother inventory management and order fulfillment.

Key Features:

  1. Highlighting Available Stock:

    • The tool identifies items that were marked as backordered even though they are available in the warehouse. This allows order specialists to attach the backordered items to the available stock in the warehouse, ensuring immediate fulfillment.

  2. Existing Purchase Orders:

    • It identifies items that are backordered but already have an existing purchase order (PO). Order specialists can attach these items to the existing POs, ensuring that the items are accounted for without creating unnecessary new orders.

  3. Floor vs. Warehouse Stock:

    • The tool highlights items attached to the showroom floor but also available in the warehouse. This ensures that floor items are correctly accounted for without duplicating stock entries.

  4. Unassigned Items:

    • It flags items that are not attached to any location, highlighting potential errors where items were not ordered correctly. These items require urgent action to rectify the issue and ensure that all inventory is correctly accounted for.

Actions Required:

  • Open a ticket to attach the item to a location or PO.

  • Urgent action is required for items marked in red, indicating that they are not backordered and have no location assigned.

Usage:

  • Daily reports are generated, providing a list of items that fall into these categories.

  • This tool serves as both a training aid and a real-time check to prevent inventory management issues.

By leveraging the "Items Backordered but In Stock or Already on Order" tool, businesses can enhance their inventory accuracy, reduce unnecessary backorders, and streamline their order fulfillment processes.
