Monitoring Access Points

Overview

The eTags Companion App provides real-time visibility into the status of your store’s access points, ensuring that your electronic tags (eTags) remain connected and functional. This feature allows users to quickly identify and resolve network issues that may affect eTag performance.

Viewing Access Points

  • Navigate to the Access Points tab in the eTags Companion App.

  • A list of all registered access points will be displayed, each showing:

    • Access Point Name – The identifier of the access point.

    • Status Indicator – Displays whether the access point is online or offline.

Troubleshooting Offline Access Points

If an access point is marked as offline, take the following steps:

  1. Check Power & Connectivity

    • Ensure the access point is powered on and connected to the network.

    • Verify that there are no loose cables or power issues.

  2. Restart the Access Point

    • Unplug the access point, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect it.

    • Allow a few minutes for it to reboot and re-establish the connection.

  3. Verify Network Configuration

    • Confirm that the access point is connected to the correct Wi-Fi or wired network.

    • Ensure no firewall or security settings are blocking communication with eTags.

  4. Check for Interference

    • Position the access point in an area with minimal obstructions.

  5. Contact IT Support

    • If the issue persists, escalate it to your internal IT team or Tools2Win support.
